π» Strings family
Cello
π How it makes sound
Bowed like a violin, but so big that the player sits down and rests it on the floor on a spike.
πΌ Range and clef
Open strings C, G, D, A, an octave below the viola. Reads bass clef, plus tenor clef for high notes.
π¨ Its timbre colour
Rich and deep, like a human voice singing low.
Timbre is the "colour" of a sound, the idea from Lesson 0. A violin and a flute can play the same note, but you can still tell them apart!
