🪜 Sharps Up, Flats Down
Screen 1 of 4Music has 12 different notes. A sharp ♯ lifts a note up half a step; a flat ♭ drops it down half a step. Going up we use sharps, coming down we use flats.
Mr Zuber’s tip: E–F and B–C are already next-door neighbours, so no sharp or flat fits between them (they glow yellow). C♯ and D♭ are the same sound with two names.
